HGH Seed Inc. > FAQS

Why grow HGH seeds?

These are new and different genetics on the hemp and cannabis scene.  They are unique crosses of some of the most rare and sought after cultivars.
We grow for craft cannabinoid production and believe the market is evolving like the craft beer industry towards unique cultivars that can be “tuned ” for targeted therapies desired by health professionals and manufacturers.

Breeding a plant to a formulation is much less expensive than fractioning and distilling individual cannabinoids and terpenes only to reassemble again into a compounded Nutraceutical product. These strains are for those who are seeking high CBD and the full spectrum of minor cannabinoids and expressive terpenes.

These plants grow and look like traditional cannabis grown for THC.  They are not derived from typical industrial hemp cultivars. They will grow to look like high THC plants, not fiber and seed industrial hemp. We have found that industrial hemp seed crosses are not as stable and predictable as we would like.

Advanced growers may wish to use these cultivars in other breeding projects.

People who have always wanted to try a “terpy” high CBD plant in their home gardens or for commercial uses will enjoy selecting from our seeds.

What is the best way to produce CBD-rich cannabis oil?

The cannabis oil that is typically available in dispensaries is THC-dominant with little cannabidiol. To extract CBD-rich cannabis oil, one must start with CBD-rich plant material.

There many ways to extract oil from the cannabis plant, each has its pros and cons. Some methods are safer and more effective than others. Cannabis oils made with neurotoxic solvents like butane and hexane may leave unsafe residues that interfere with immune function and impede healing.

Supercritical CO2 extraction is non-toxic and produces high-quality oil, but requires significant expertise and access to expensive equipment. Home-brewers can also use safer solvents, such as ethanol, or prevent exposure to organic solvents entirely by using olive oil to extract cannabis oil, according to Dr. Arno Hazekamp director of phytochemical research at Bedrocan BV, which supplies cannabis, including a CBD-rich strain, for the Dutch Health Ministry’s medical marijuana program.

What is the germination rate of these seeds?

We are registered as a seed seller and required by the Colorado Department of Agriculture to follow labeling requirements for seed sold within our State.
Each pack sold in Colorado will include a seed label that will include germination rates as well as a lot of other useful information.

The vast majority of our selections will germinate at over 90+%.  In many of our tests we get 100% germination but your results may vary.

Our lowest germination rate is about 50% (we still feel people want some of the low germination rate seeds because of the unique properties of those cultivars).
We can provide you with germination percentages of your selections prior to purchase.  Please ask.
